I’m Kirsty Ingleson, Head of Digital, Innovation and AI at Leeds College of Building, the UK’s only specialist further education construction college.
I founded TechTober to shine a light on the brilliant people doing great things across education, while making digital skills, ideas and opportunities accessible to more people.
Creating communities, and being part of them, fuels my fire. In 2022, I founded AIC (Artificial Intelligence Community) as a safe space for people in education to navigate AI together. It has since grown into an edtech and digital transformation network connecting more than 90 organisations.
At the heart of everything I do is creating spaces where people feel comfortable asking questions, sharing what they know and supporting each other to grow, where role, rank and ego have no place.
I’m proud to be a Jisc Community Champion, one of the Top 100 Women in Tech 2025, a WILD Digital Champion and Canvassador.
I’m an Essential Skills Wales Practitioner and Digital Peer Mentor who loves exploring how technology can make education more creative, accessible and engaging. I’m a self-confessed tech enthusiast, Canvassador and lifelong learner, and I’m always trying out new tools, from Microsoft 365 and Canva to AI, and sharing the ones that are actually worth using!
I’m a Jisc Community Champion and Wales FE Tutor of the Year, and I co-organise TechTober with Kirsty. I love bringing educators together to share ideas, learn from each other, try new things and have a bit of fun with technology.
Outside of digital education, I’m a Trustee for the Kenya Community Education Project, supporting its work to improve opportunities for children at Madungu primary School in Kenya. I also love to travel, explore new places and experience different cultures, so I’m usually planning my next adventure!

TechTober isn't just another conference. It's a community.
It all started with a simple idea: what if educators had a free space to connect, share, learn, and inspire one another?
That's how TechTober was born.
Every October, we bring together passionate educators, students, innovators, learning designers, technology enthusiasts, and curious minds from across the UK and beyond. Whether you're taking your first steps with educational technology or you're an experienced digital trailblazer, you'll find something to spark new ideas.
Our sessions are completely free, because we believe great professional learning should be accessible to everyone, and not hidden behind expensive registration fees.
But TechTober is about more than webinars and presentations. It's about conversations, collaboration, and creating a community where everyone's experiences matter. Every presenter has a story. Every participant has something to contribute. Together, we learn from each other.
Missed a session? No worries. All presentations are recorded and shared, so you can catch up whenever it suits you, or revisit your favourite sessions later.
