ℹ️ Many learners find creative writing challenging because they struggle to generate ideas and know where to begin. In this interactive session, learners use the familiar nursery rhyme Jack and Jill as a springboard for storytelling, transforming a traditional tale into a modern narrative with the support of AI. 

Using both Microsoft Copilot and Canva, learners create visual representations of characters and scenes before reimagining each line of the rhyme with a contemporary twist. The storyboard then becomes the foundation for planning their own story, helping them organise ideas and develop narrative structure. Once a clear plan is in place, learners use Copilot to generate a first draft, learning how AI can support creativity without replacing their own thinking. 

The session demonstrates practical strategies for using AI ethically and effectively in the English classroom, showing learners how to combine imagination, planning, visual storytelling and responsible AI use to build confidence in creative writing.
